A day to remember . . . Last week we had our annual field trip at Fairchild Tropical Garden and enjoyed the spectacular art work of Chihuly all along the gardens. What a wonderful experience in our backyard. A must see if you haven’t been able to. The weather was perfect, sunny, warm but breezy. Our CGGC gang took a lovely tour on the tram at 10:00 a.m. Afterward, we meandered through the lush grounds with enough time to take photos and absorb the magnificent glass works of art up close. We made it to the Butterfly Conservatory and actually experienced the release of new butterflies. We took turns letting them stay still on our hands as we experienced their beauty. What a treat! The one that so patiently posed for pictures was the “Graphium Agamemnon,” Tailed Jay Asia. Such a wonderful experience to be surrounded by so many beautiful butterflies. We had lunch together at one of the cafes and later took a walking tour given by Susan Thomas, one of our own Garden Club members. It was a special day, full of beauty, nature, art and everyone will agree in the greatest of company.
